Decorate Your Master Bedroom Without Breaking the Bank

I’ll try to share some advice for decorating your master bedroom to help simplify things.

Consider the Room Space when Choosing Furniture

I’ll tell you me and my husband’s process when we decorated the master bedroom: (For better or worse!)

We knew what dimensions dresser would fit on the wall without being large and in the door’s way.

We had to be aware of our floor space because we have a master bedroom that is compact.

We chose to make Do It Yourself shelves instead of nightstands.  (My husband is handy with the wood boards and the walls).

That gives us the flexibility of sliding something under the shelf on the spacious floor space if desired (such as a dog bed or basket to the throw cushions ).

Always Use Neutral Bedding

I love that white and simple bedding lets you incorporate patterns and fun fashions . We fell in love with these white and tan stripe set we discovered.

White always makes it feel less cluttered and larger, which promotes calmness within the room and instantly elevates the room.

Personally, I believe white bedding is almost always a good idea. It’s a classic that will never go out of style.

Do drapes: Always? Or Not?

Here’s the deal, if you are thinking about drapes, simply give it a try when you are decorating your master bedroom. It’s not that big of an investment, so there’s not much risk here.

It is really hit or miss and you have to try some out to see how it makes the room feel. It totally depends on what is already there so always do the drapes LAST.

 Do not overlook lighting

We had a boring flush bracket light in here earlier, and we swapped it out for a more modern light. It added so much personality to the room, and completely changed the feel.

Ambient lighting can make a room feel really cozy.  You can get the most band for your buck by getting some plugin ambient lights and seeing how it affects the feel of the room.  This is probably the most underestimated thing you can do for very cheap!
